The Halpern Law Firm is anchored by the patriarch of the family Jesse L. Halpern. Jesse graduated from Southwestern Law school in 1966 at age 26. Since that time he has been helping people who have suffered injuries as a result of the neglect and negligence of others. As he looks back on his career as a lawyer, he points to a case over 30 years ago. A young boy was injured in an accident and admitted to County Hospital. When he was admitted he was able to move his arms and legs. Shortly after admission he became paralyzed Through good lawyering, Jesse was able to establish negligence on the part of the hospital staff. The case was ultimately settled and the boy was provided with enough money to care for himself for the rest of his life. In today's dollars the settlement would be worth about 10 million dollars. He points to this case because it involved compassion, trusting your instincts and aggressive lawyering.
